Khalidou Babacar's second-half winner gave the Viola a 1-0 victory over Bologna, a result that keeps alive their faint hopes of qualifying for next season's Europa League.

"Europa League? Today we thought about Bologna, we created a lot of chances," Portuguese tactician Sousa commented at the Stadio Artemio Franchi.

"We could have won by more goals, the team had the right spirit.

"We were consistent from start to finish, with our quality of play we created opportunities to win by a bigger margin."

Sousa was asked whether uncertainty over his future at the club is causing unrest in his squad, but the Coach refused to respond.

"The team has always tried to win, in every training session the players have told me they want to compete with our opponents and win every game.

"We are getting that consistency which gives you confidence and I hope that's how it is until the end.

"We deserved the win, we need to help everyone perform to their best and we need to improve in the final third."
