This was their second consecutive loss and sees the Nerazzurri slide to seventh place.

“When you see an attitude like the one in the first half, you’re not going to win any game,” Ausilio blasted on Inter Channel.

“The team was superficial, arrogant and unacceptable. If you go on the field and don’t give your all, of course you’re going to struggle.

“After 20 minutes we were behind and, even if we saw a different Inter in the second half, it wasn’t enough.

“Crotone had to give their all for Serie A safety, so Inter needed to respond and we didn’t do that. I don’t know what has changed over the last few weeks, as if I did then I wouldn’t be here.

“We must work and understand what needs to be changed. We’d just need to get back to being what we were last month, when everyone talked about an Inter with a great future.

“I am astounded by what happened today, because I know the quality of these players and cannot understand how they could put in a performance like that. Today was simply unacceptable.”

Next Saturday, Inter go head-to-head with Milan in the Derby della Madonnina.

“Ironically, the derby is precisely the kind of game we need at this moment to get everyone concentrated and with the right intensity.

“Today’s blackout was psychological. We paid a heavy price for last Sunday’s defeat to Sampdoria, which condemned us to fight for a Europa League spot and it is our duty to qualify.”
