Mateo Kovacic “will certainly not leave Real Madrid and there is no chance of a return to Serie A” for Milan or Roma, said the former Inter man’s agent.
The midfielder moved to Spain in the summer of 2015 for around €30m, but is not getting much playing time at the Bernabeu.
This helped fuel reports of a possible swing back to Italy, where Roma and Milan are the most interested parties.
“There is no news. Or rather, there is no chance of a return to Serie A,” agent Nikky Vuksan told Tuttomercatoweb.
“Mateo has a very long contract with Real Madrid, which runs to 2021. So I don’t understand where all these rumours and this speculation on his future are coming from.
“Kovacic plays for a huge club like Real Madrid and he is very happy. Every day I hear and read stories that explain his possible departure, but there’s absolutely no truth to them.
“He has a great rapport with his teammates and the Coach, so I can only make it very clear: Kovacic will not leave Real Madrid, he will certainly be staying.
“Anything other than my words is just rumour. There’s no truth to it.”
