Gigi Di Biagio felt Italy “didn’t keep the necessary organisation” in a 3-1 defeat to the Czech Republic, which “complicates” their Under-21 European Championship.

The Azzurrini beat Denmark 2-0 in the opening game, but were stunned by the Czechs this afternoon.

“We suffered their pressing, especially in the first half, and weren’t as quick as we wanted to be,” the Coach told Rai Sport.

“When we got back into it, we could’ve won, but then conceded their second against the run of play. We had the right approach, but didn’t keep the necessary organisation to win the game.

“It’s not all over, but this result certainly complicates the situation. We have to regroup our energy and prepare for the next match.”

Now Italy must beat Germany in the final game and even that might not be enough.

Only the three group winners are guaranteed a spot in the semi-finals, along with the best runner-up.
