Newly-promoted Benevento got the all-clear to refurbish their stadium, as the Vigorito will be expanded to seat 17,800 in a 20-year deal.
‘Le Streghe’ will have their first ever Serie A campaign after earning promotion via the Serie B play-offs, making the step up this summer with Spal and Hellas Verona.
Today the local council signed a deal allowing Benevento Calcio to control the Stadio Ciro Vigorito for the next 20 years.
They’ll be able to refurbish the arena, growing to 17,800 seats, with the council spending €1.3m from the Universiadi tournament funds to enhance local access to the stadium.
“The work inside the stadium to guarantee the FIGC certificate will be done before the start of the season,” assured President Oreste Vigorito.
