Mario Rui admits he “can’t wait” to begin his Napoli career and work under Maurizio Sarri again.
Mario Rui underwent a medical on Monday morning ahead of a proposed switch to Napoli, with Roma agreeing to a loan deal that includes the option of a permanent transfer next summer.
“I’m happy, I can’t wait to arrive at the training camp and start,” the former Empoli left-back told Gianluca Di Marzio’s website.

“It’s great to reunite with Sarri, he’s given me so much and allowed me to grow, so I hope I can do well.
“The objective, I believe, is for Napoli to pick up from where they left off last season.
“Competition? It’s a stimulus, Ghoulam and Strinic are two great players, but I’m very motivated and I want to do well and redeem myself.
“I was fine at Roma, but I’m sorry for the atmosphere that was created in the end.”
