Francesco Acerbi and Claud Adjapong have officially extended their Sassuolo contracts to June 2022.
The defender had stated he’d had his last season with the Neroverdi and wanted to move away.
He was linked with the likes of Inter, Roma, Napoli and Leicester City, but the €12m price-tag put many clubs off.
Now 29-year-old Acerbi has signed on to a new long-term contract with Sassuolo.
Also tying himself to the Mapei Stadium until June 2022 is 19-year-old right-back Adjapong.

He came up through the Sassuolo youth academy, born in nearby Modena, and last season made 13 competitive appearances for the senior squad, contributing one goal.
