The striker had agreed terms on a €30m including bonuses move over a month ago and underwent a medical, but the contract was never deposited.

Reports emerged over the last few days that doctors flagged up anomalies in his test results, specifically his cardiac function, and wanted further examinations.

Those results are expected tomorrow and Tuttosport claim it’s a heart problem that requires 45-60 days off the field.

La Gazzetta dello Sport add that Juventus want to renegotiate the transfer based on this new information, preferring to take 21-year-old Schick on loan with an option to buy in January.

Sampdoria are irritated by the sudden change and Tuttosport note they have received calls from the clubs who had been in hot pursuit of the Czech Republic international before Juve struck a deal.

These include Inter, Everton and Paris Saint-Germain, who would all be prepared to wait for his full recovery.
