The Rossoneri have dominated the transfer session this summer with over €211m spent and Lucas Biglia set to complete his move from Lazio for another €17m plus bonuses.

The biggest surprise was undoubtedly the arrival of Bonucci from Juventus for €42m.

“It was a crazy idea and we didn’t even want to try it, but then Vincenzo Montella told us to continue pushing,” Fassone told Mediaset Premium.

“It’s a very important sign to see that now players in Champions League clubs want to join us. Bonucci’s arrival is a signal for the future. Leo is a warrior and a leader who will give us a great deal, both on and off the field.”

The spending spree isn’t over yet, as Fassone confirms from their pre-season tour of China that a striker is next on the list.

“Fortunately we are in China now and can therefore discuss with the owners what our resources are, because they are not unlimited. We must also work things out with the Coach, because the next two friendlies can give some indications to him and Massimiliano Mirabelli.

“When we return to Italy, we will get on the right path. We’re keeping all our options open and will certainly do something big.

“Many names have been mentioned of very strong strikers. It’d be nice to have one from Belotti, Morata or Aubameyang. We’ll see who the choice lands on, even if there are also other names who haven’t been splashed on the front pages yet.

“Evidently we are still thinking of doing something in that position.”

Today’s reports suggest Belotti is the prime candidate, with an offer of €40m plus Gabriel Paletta, M’Baye Niang and a two-year Manuel Locatelli loan on the table for Torino.

Borussia Dortmund hitman Aubameyang seems to be leaning more towards Chelsea, while Real Madrid want over €80m for Morata.
