Sampdoria President Massimo Ferrero claims he could keep Patrik Schick as he reiterates the striker is “healthy and fine”.

Schick remains a Samp player after Juventus pulled the plug on his proposed €25m transfer, but Schick again dismissed the theory that a cardiac problem had been picked up in the Czech’s medical, while revealing Inter were “a possibility”.

“Schick? I’ve not been in football for long, but I can say one thing: for me, a lad’s health is important, that they’re fine. And Schick is fine,” he told Gianluca Di Marzio’s website.

“We ended the season at the end of May, the lad then played at the European Under-21 Championship.

“Juventus made him take a plane and undergo the appropriate medical tests, before sending him back to the Euro U21s, where he scored two days later.

“Therefore, the lad is fine because if he was poorly then they’d have said it.

“Will Juventus reconsider him? I can’t answer that, but I now know that the lad is a Sampdoria player and I’m thinking of keeping him because he didn’t go for those big numbers.

“Inter? Yes, that’s a possibility for him. I told them very clearly, ‘do you want him? Deposit [the money for] his contract.’

“Colley and Vietto? We’re working on them, although it’ll be very difficult for them to arrive. Once we have the right infrastructure in place, it’ll be easier to bring in talent.

“Giampaolo? He’s a good Coach, he knows how to play entertaining football.

“Cassano? I hope he finds a team where he can show his quality. He’s a good guy, but above all he can play football.”
