Genoa have officially released Mauricio Pinilla from his contract, freeing the striker for a return to Chile.

Reports earlier on Thursday emerged how Pinilla was in talks to rescind his Genoa contract, and the club have since confirmed a ”mutual termination” on their official website.

“The club thank the player and wish him the best of luck for his future endeavours,” added the Grifone in a statement.
