Former Milan CEO Adriano Galliani has formally been appointed the new President of television company Mediaset Premium.

Galliani was at Milan since Silvio Berlusconi bought the club on the verge of bankruptcy in February 1986 and left when the side was sold to Yonghong Li.

Although Galliani was linked with a takeover at Genoa and proposed as the new Lega Serie A President, he said he would no longer work in football.

This is only technically true, as he is now the President of Mediaset Premium, the digital television pay-per-view service owned by Berlusconi.

His first and most important job will be negotiating the Serie A TV rights for 2018-21.

Mediaset Premium are the main contenders to Sky Sport Italia.
