Fiorentina director Giancarlo Antognoni confirms “Nikola Kalinic is still an objective for Milan, but nothing has changed. Inter must pay the Matias Vecino clause.”

The Viola have decimated their squad over the summer months, losing the likes of Borja Valero, Federico Bernardeschi, Gonzalo Rodriguez and Ciprian Tatarusanu.

“Kalinic is still an objective for Milan, but nothing has changed and as of today it all remains static,” Antognoni told Sky Sport Italia.

“It is pleasing that Fiorentina players are linked with big clubs, because that means we have worked well. Will there be a player-exchange for Kalinic? That is not my area of expertise.

“Fiorentina never send anyone away, but some players want a different experience or refused to sign a new contract, such as Bernardeschi.

“If someone leaves, we hope that another will arrive who is of the same quality and wants to remain in the squad.”

Others are due to walk away, as Matias Vecino is on the verge of a transfer to Inter.

“Vecino has a €24m release clause in his contract and once that is paid, he will move to the club that activates it. We couldn’t do anything about that.”
