Verona have officially confirmed that Antonio Cassano’s contract has been terminated by mutual consent.
The forward signed for the Butei on July 10, but just eight days later he decided to retire from football.
A Press conference was called to give the reasons for his decision, but FantAntonio then changed his mind and decided to play on.
That reversal lasted just under a week, before it was announced that Cassano would indeed leave Verona.

While his wife initially claimed he would play for another club, the veteran announced his retirement from football and today his contract has been officially terminated.
“Hellas Verona announces the consensual resolving of the relationship with the player Antonio Cassano,” a short statement on the Butei’s website reads.
The former Italian international would now theoretically be free to join another club, though he has claimed he’ll hang up his boots.
