Inter have been accused of not doing enough in the transfer market this summer, in stark contrast to city rivals Milan, but Kondogbia is hoping his new midfield partner will help him and the Nerazzurri do “much more” next season.

“We’ve been together for a few days, but we have to get to each other even more,” the Frenchman said at a Press conference ahead of Saturday’s clash with Chelsea.

“We must really listen to the Coach, trying to do the things that he wants: but you can already see some of the results.

“I expect much more from myself and my teammates this season, and we’ll try to do everything together because here, it’s all about the team.

“A team like Inter must be playing in the Champions League. It’s true that there’s competition and there are other strong teams, but if we work well we can achieve this objective.

“Valero? He’s a very good player, it’s easy to play with him.

“He’s always looking for the ball and helping his teammates. It’s always a pleasure to play with someone like him.

“Other signings? I think we already have top players, but like I said before, we’re Inter and we’ve always had them.

“Still, if other reinforcements came in then I think it’d help us in our need of returning to the Champions League.

“We still have to work hard in order to start the season well, now we’re playing against Chelsea, a great team that always vie for great competitions and have a really good team.”
