It’s reported the winger is the subject of a £45m offer from Manchester United, who see him as the alternative to Inter’s Ivan Perisic.

“Milan are one of the biggest clubs in the world, along with Real Madrid, Barcelona or Manchester United,” Forsberg told Kicker.

“I don’t see why my words would cause problems with the RB Leipzig fans, as everything is going well here. I am highly-motivated and concentrated to have an even better season.”

The San Siro giants have already splashed out well over €210m on players including Leonardo Bonucci, Lucas Biglia, Franck Kessie, Andre Silva, Mateo Musacchio, Hakan Calhanoglu and Ricardo Rodriguez.

This isn’t the first time he has praised the Rossoneri, as in June he told Swedish paper Expressen that “Milan are a great club, one of the largest in the world.

“They have an interesting project in many ways. They are investing and want to take back the throne. The Champions League is not an important factor. I care more about what role a player has in the team.”
