Benevento stall Eintracht Frankfurt

Serie A new boys Benevento held Eintracht Frankfurt to a 1-1 friendly draw this evening.

The tiny club secured their first ever foray into the top flight of Italian football thanks to a promotion play-off victory.

Marco D’Alessandro gave Benevento the lead in today’s test match after 33 minutes.

Coda’s attempt had been cleared off the line from a Danilo Cataldi corner, but D’Alessandro pounced on the rebound.

However, in the closing stages Mijat Gacinovic drew the Bundesliga side level, surprising Vid Belec with an effort that ricocheted in off the inside of the post.

Benevento: Belec; Letizia (Venuti 62), Lucioni, Camporese (Costa 46), Di Chiara (Gyamfi 62); Ciciretti, Del Pinto, Cataldi (Viola 78), D'Alessandro (Eramo 70); Coda, Puscas

Eintracht Frankfurt: Hradecky, Jovic, Willems, Stendera, Russ, Da Costa, Wolf, Barkok, Cetin, Knothe, Kamada (Gacinovic)
