Roma saw a €30m proposal for Lucas Vazquez rejected by Real Madrid, claim Radio Marca.
According to the Spanish station, the Giallorossi pin-pointed Vazquez as the alternative to Leicester City star Riyad Mahrez.
The proposal on the table is believed to be worth €30m (£26.8m).
The 26-year-old winger can play on the right or left and has three senior caps for Spain.
Last season Vazquez contributed four goals and 14 assists in 50 competitive games.
