Andrea Conti says “being here is the crowning of a dream” following his summer move to Milan.
The full-back was part of a protracted transfer saga, but the Rossoneri finally secured his signature from Atalanta.
“Being here is the crowning of a dream,” Conti told Corriere dello Sport.
“I wanted Milan, the first - and as far as I was concerned only - team that wanted me.
“This is an important chance at a great club, their call honoured me, not least because I wanted them more than anyone else.
“In recent years they haven’t been the Milan we’ve always known, but for me it was important to be a protagonist in such an important project, to bring this club back to the top of football.
“For me this is a beautiful challenge, more unique than rare, an opportunity which won’t come along again. Milan is the dream of every child.”
Conti was also asked about his role models, and named a former Juventus full-back as his inspiration.
“In my role I’ve always admired Dani Alves, and Sergio Ramos when he played at full-back.
“I’ve also been inspired by those closer to my reality like [Matteo] Darmian and [Mattia] De Sciglio, so I always followed them very closely.”
