It’s expected Leonardo Bonucci will start as Milan captain against Real Betis tonight.
The centre-back signed from Juventus this summer in a €40m move, and it was immediately rumoured that he would take over the armband.
Now Tuttosport is reporting that he’ll make his first start for the Rossoneri in tonight’s friendly, and that he’ll captain the team.
Coach Vincenzo Montella has admitted that the new Chinese owners want one of this summer’s signings to replace Riccardo Montolivo as captain.
It’s therefore overwhelmingly likely that Bonucci will be that man, and if he wears the armband tonight it would be de facto confirmation of the decision.
