Diego Perotti reveals Mohamed Salah’s departure has given him the chance to make different movements in attack for Roma.

The Giallorossi are in Spain, where tomorrow evening they will face Sevilla in the Antonio Puerta Memorial trophy.

“Coming back here after seven years is very emotional and pleasing for me,” said Perotti in his Press conference.

“I’ve always said this is one of the most beautiful cities in the world. Tomorrow’s game will mean a lot to me, as I’ll have the chance to honour Antonio. I arrived at Sevilla aged 18, now I am an adult and a father.”

Perotti will be called to take on another role this season following Salah’s sale to Liverpool.

“We’re a work in progress, but the team is working well. We’ve got a squad strong enough to win a title and that would be totally unforgettable. I want to give the fans that joy of lifting a trophy with us.

“I really like the new system, it makes me do different movements that in the past I didn’t need as much, moving between the lines and not just waiting for the ball.

“I will be closer to the centre-forward, provide more assists and improve my shots per game ratio. I’ll have more options and won’t just have to make the same movement every time, like I did last season.”
