Reports last week suggested Juve were pushing to sign Strootman, a year after they poached Miralem Pjanic from the Giallorossi, but the Dutchman made it clear there was no truth in the speculation.

“Personally, I feel good and ready for the new season, but I think everyone worked well,” he said after Sunday’s 4-1 defeat to Celta Vigo.

“We didn’t see it today, but we’ve been doing the right things in training and we have to be ready for next Saturday. That’s the most important thing.

“Squad for the Scudetto? If we say that we’re a Scudetto team and then lose a game, you’ll attack us immediately.

“We have to make it clear during each game that we want to do great things with this team, without mentioning the League now. Maybe we’ll talk about it in February or March…

“Juventus? I haven’t talked to anyone. If you write something, I don’t always have to answer it.

“I’m only thinking about Roma, I’m always on the pitch, training with my teammates, and I don’t have to answer everything.”
