New Fiorentina signing Valentin Eysseric insists “for me, we’re top five” and names Zinedine Zidane as his idol.
The midfielder has joined the Viola from Nice, and was officially presented to the media today.
“If I came here, it’s because I think I can get good results,” Eysseric pointed out in his Press conference.
“For me we’re top five, but it depends entirely on us. There are a lot of players here, but as we say in France, the mayonnaise has to be made, and it has to be made together.
“I want to play as many matches as possible, I don’t have positional preferences. I’m often behind the striker, but I’ve played on the wings too.
“Italian football? The demands of the Coach [Stefano Pioli] are different to Ligue 1, we run a lot more. Pioli asks us to play on the front foot.
“My idol is Zidane, even when he played at Juve when I was very small. I want to create my own story though, without looking at the past, even with great names like [Francesco] Totti and [Alessandro] Del Piero.”
