Stevan Jovetic has reportedly turned down a move to Newcastle United, as he hopes Sevilla can still reach an agreement with Inter.

According to Sky Sport Italia, the Montenegro international has his heart set on Spain and said no to an approach from Rafa Benitez’s newly-promoted Premier League side.

He already spent the last six months at Sevilla on loan with option to buy, but the club wanted a substantial discount.

Jovetic impressed while in La Liga, scoring seven goals with five assists in 24 competitive appearances, and has also shone in pre-season friendlies.

The 27-year-old forward is under contract with Inter until June 2019.

He has also been linked with Olympique Marseille and a potential return to his former club Fiorentina.
