Marco Storari feels Leonardo Bonucci “increased the prestige” of the Milan squad, but “didn’t think he could come here.”
The veteran goalkeeper is expected to start tomorrow’s Europa League play-off against Shkendija.
It kicks off on Thursday at 19.45 UK time (18.45 GMT) after a 6-0 victory at San Siro.
“I was surprised by Bonucci, because I didn’t think he could come here,” said Storari in his Press conference.
“I was very happy, obviously, as he’s a friend and I played with him for five years. Bonucci’s arrival increased the prestige of this team and we always welcome champions.
“The club has made some great buys, we want to do well. There are some analogies with Antonio Conte’s first Juventus, as we were coming off seventh place in Serie A, but a winning mentality must be developed over time. You can’t rush these things.
“I’m back at Milan in Europe and there are always strong emotional responses to nights like that.”
