The Giallorossi had a very tough draw with Chelsea, Atletico Madrid and Qarabag.

“We know that you have to face the strongest teams in Europe. It won’t be easy for any of them to take on Roma either,” the recently-retired icon told Mediaset Premium.

“Diego Simeone and Antonio Conte are two top international Coaches, but we’ll try to cause them as many problems as possible.”

Totti is not part of the squad for the first time in 25 years, but remains close to Roma as a new director.

“I enter on tip-toes, as this is a new role, a new profession and I am trying to learn. At the same time, I know the locker room and how it works, the various habits and approaches. I am at the disposal of the Coach and all the players.

“If anyone needs to ask me something, I will give my contribution. I know the environment at Roma.”

Totti was handed the UEFA President’s Award today, marking his extraordinary career, and also helped perform the Champions League draw.

“It’s the first time I have taken part in this event. There’s more pressure being here compared to watching it at home. It was pressure to swirl those little balls around,” he then told Sky Sport Italia.
