Ricardo Rodriguez believes Milan can win their Europa League group because “we’re the best team in it”.
The Rossoneri were drawn with Austria Vienna, Rijeka and AEK Athens earlier today, and the left-back is targeting top spot in Group D.
“I think it’s possible to win the group, because we’re the best team in it,” Rodriguez said as he visited a jewellery store in Milan for his birthday.
“I also think though that we’ll have to take it game-by-game and go forward.
“My move to Milan? I’ve always told me agent I’d like to play in Italy, I like Italy and I was really pleased when Milan came in.
“I’m here now and I’ll do my best to have a good league season and the same for the Europa League.
“I’ve always liked Milan, I watched Milan games when I was little and this is a great club. I wanted to get to a great club this season, and I’m happy to have succeeded by wearing this shirt.
“I want to wear this shirt for a long time.”
Leonardo Bonucci has also arrived this summer, and Rodriguez was asked about the new Diavolo captain.
“He’s a great captain, he has loads of experience and he’s won so many trophies. He knows himself and he’s a leader.
“The defence? We’ve been working hard over these months, I think we have good players at the back and we have to continue like this. We have great players to win a lot of games going forward.
“I can play in a three or four man defence, because at Wolfsburg we played with three. It’s up to the Coach [Vincenzo Montella], I’ll do what I’m asked to do, no problem.”
