Juventus Coach Max Allegri warned “we all need a period to adapt” to VAR technology after two controversial calls in the Genoa game.

The Bianconeri had a penalty awarded against them that was offside and one ruled in their favour that seemed too close to be considered voluntary handball.

“Fortunately, the lads did well to bring home the victory, but when it comes to VAR it will take a little patience. We all need a period to adapt,” the Coach told Mediaset Premium.

“Fortunately, the lads did well to bring home the victory, but when it comes to VAR it will take a little patience. We all need a period to adapt,” the Coach told Mediaset Premium.

“Just as we need to work on our routines to improve, so the referees work on their routines to make VAR quicker and more effective.”

Juve lost here 3-1 last season and were 2-0 down tonight after 12 minutes, but fought back for a 4-2 victory with Paulo Dybala’s hat-trick.

“We started badly against Genoa, but the important thing was to win so we could go into the break for international duty with full points. After that, we’ve got to really focus, because the season starts in earnest.

“I am very happy with Dybala and he can still improve further. This is an important year for him.”
