Gustavo Gomez’s agent confirms a move to Fenerbahce has fallen through - “he is and remains a Milan player”.
It appeared the centre-back was close to joining the Turkish club, but it was reported earlier today that a deal had collapsed over wages and now Gomez’s representative has confirmed as much.
“In the last few hours, when we were in the midst of negotiations between Milan and the Turkish club, Fenerbahce changed the cards on the table in respect to the wage paid to Gustavo,” Augusto Paraja admitted, speaking to Sky.
“The figure we had initially agreed was net after all taxes, and a few hours ago they told us they’d pay that gross. With the change of the financial conditions, our will changed.
“At the moment Gustavo Gomez is and remains a Milan player.”
