There are unconfirmed reports that Giorgio Chiellini will miss Italy’s World Cup qualifiers against Spain and Israel with a calf injury.
According to La Stampa, Chiellini has left Italy’s training camp after experiencing “severe pain” and undergoing tests on Friday morning.
Furthermore, the defender could even miss Juventus’ Champions League opener against Barcelona on September 12 as the newspaper speculates he could be out for up to three weeks.
Sky Sport Italia and Gazzetta dello Sport are among the outlets that have since picked up the story.
The 32-year-old struggled with a calf problem last season and could now be set to join Sami Khedira and Claudio Marchisio on the Bianconeri’s treatment table.
