Milan have reportedly made enquiries about Napoli goalkeeper Pepe Reina, who will be a free agent next summer.

The Spanish international looked set to leave the Partenopei this summer, but ultimately he remained at the Stadio San Paolo.

According to this morning’s Gazzetta dello Sport though, the Rossoneri have made tentative approaches for Reina.

Current goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma has a €70m release clause in his contract, and Paris Saint-Germain are known to be interested.

It’s not thought the 18-year-old wants to leave, and the Diavolo don’t want to sell, but they’re nonetheless keen to have a backup plan just in case.

If Reina arrived he could be backup to Donnarumma, providing competition for the starting shirt.
