Jakub Jankto’s goal gave Udinese their first win of the season, but Andrea Bertolacci’s early red using VAR damaged Genoa.

It was an eventful encounter under the rain at the Dacia Arena.

The only goal of the game arrived after 15 minutes, when Bram Nuytink’s effort from a set play came off the woodwork and Jankto was quickest to meet the rebound.

VAR technology was used to send off Bertolacci for a studs-up sliding tackle on Kevin Lasagna, despite the referee originally not even awarding a foul.
