Ivan Juric saw positives in Genoa’s performance despite a 1-0 defeat at Udinese.

The Griffone lost for the second time in three Serie A matches so far this season, leaving them with just one point this campaign.

“The team played a good second half and would have deserved a draw,” Juric insisted after the loss in Udine.

“I was left perplexed by some incidents and the way they were interpreted.

“However, we had a good second half even though we couldn’t get the goal.”

Genoawere not helped by an early red card awarded to Andrea Bertolacci after consultation with the VAR system, but Juric had no complaints.

“The VAR? I didn’t see the incident for the sending off, if that’s how the referee assessed it he must have had a reason.

“The team have played two and a half very positive halves.

“I can see a lot of positives, but we are missing points.

“We need to react immediately and get points, but I am confident.

“We will look at what didn’t go well today, but the team showed what it is. It did well on the pitch.

“We need to remain positive and focus on the next game.”
