Verona somehow completed a last-gasp recovery from 2-0 down with the aid of VAR to peg back Torino after Andrea Belotti’s injury.

It was a bizarre match, as the Granata have clearly not yet shaken off the trauma of a 4-0 Derby della Mole defeat to Juventus.

Sinisa Mihajlovic’s men seemed to have the game in hand, as Cristian Ansaldi pulled back for a Iago Falque tap-in and M’Baye Niang scored his first goal in a Torino jersey with a solo run.

However, Hellas were increasingly courageous in the second half and, after a sensational Salvatore Sirigu save on Alessio Cerci, Toro saw Belotti stretchered off with a knee injury.

At the 87th minute, Moise Kean redirected a Cerci strike and was flagged offside, but after several minutes, the verdict from the Video Assistant Referee was for a goal.

Moments later, VAR intervened again for a Cristian Molinaro handling offence and Giampaolo Pazzini converted the penalty for 2-2.

In a dramatic finale, there was still time for Bruno Zuculini to get sent off.
