Samir Handanovic –  6

Could only watch as Ledian Memushaj’s effort cannoned back off the cross bar. Made a great fingertip save to take a Marco D’Alessandro shot out of the bottom corner and almost kept out his goal.

Danilo D’Ambrosio – 6

Was skinned by D’Alessandro on a couple of occasions and was guilty of ball watching when D’Alessandro found himself alone at the back post to head of the woodwork.

Milan Skriniar – 7

Snuffed out a dangerous through ball to Iemmello that could have been a goal scoring chance and was composed and assured carrying the ball from out of the back line. Came close to scoring early in the first half.

Miranda –  6

Didn’t cover himself in glory for Benevento’s goal, was lazy getting back into position. Was solid enough for the most part.

Yuto Nagatomo – 5

Japanese full back had a quiet enough afternoon. Got up and down the wing but never really got involved in the play.

Matias Vecino – 5

Was industrious and busy in midfield but gave the ball away in the action that led to D’Alessandro’s goal and was slow to recover.

Borja Valero – 6

The bald regista played a bit too deep to influence the game in a dangerous manner.

Antonio Candreva – 6

Made a perfect assist for Brozovic to open the scoring after stinging the hands of Belec at his near post with a strong shot. Faded then and had little impact before being substituted early in the second half.

Marcelo Brozovic – 8

Scored in the 19th minute heading in a pinpoint Candreva cross. Then scored an absolute peach of a free kick three minutes after his first goal.

Ivan Perisic – 5

Failed to make any in roads down the left and never linked up with Nagatomo down that flank, a frustrating day at the office for him and Inter fans.

Mauro Icardi – 6

The Captain worked hard and had a goal disallowed for offside in the first half. Was rash with a couple of efforts in the second.

Substitutes

Joao Mario –  6

Replaced Candreva in the 52nd minute and looked lively, drove forward with the ball on a few occasions and added some much-needed attacking impetus to a sleepwalking side.

Roberto Gagliardini –  6

Came on in the 78th minute for Valero. Made a great sliding tackle to stop Ramen Chibsah running through on goal.

Dalbert – N/A

Replaced Nagatomo with five minutes to go.
