Nantes’ President says it’s “normal” that Claudio Ranieri has been linked with Italy but “he has a contract that has to be honoured”.
The Coach admitted that becoming the Azzurri CT would be “special and beautiful”, but the patron of his club doesn’t think he’ll be leaving anytime soon.
“He answered quite logically,” Waldemir Kitta shrugged, speaking to L’Équipe.
“He’s intelligent, he has an Italian heart, he’s a top class Coach and it’s normal that, at the level he’s at, if it came up at this stage of his career, he’d have questions to ask.
“For the moment though the question hasn’t come up.
“I think Claudio is happy here and that he respects the contract he signed with us. Then, of course, anything can happen!
“I don’t want another Sergio Concecao situation [the Portuguese left after six months to join Porto].
“If he asked me I’d tell him he has a contract that has to be honoured.”
