According to Gazzetta dello Sport, Juve will learn “in the next few hours” if Higuain can occupy a place on the bench at the San Paolo.

It comes after the striker underwent surgery on a broken left hand two days ago, with a recovery time of 2-3 weeks quickly estimated.

The newspaper explains the striker’s hand is currently in a brace, but the rules state he is free to play with one, while a pre-op suggested “he could be used” against his former club.

Despite there being ‘growing’ belief that the Argentine could feature, La Gazzetta nonetheless warns “everything depends on his pain threshold.”
