Eleven wins and no defeats in their opening 14 games have catapulted Inter to second place in Serie A, with Skriniar playing a key role in the Nerazzurri’s run and the defender also citing the ‘important’ appointment of Luciano Spalletti as a factor.

“We expect a difficult game because they’re physical and compact, but we must win in front of our fans,” he told Inter Channel ahead of Sunday’s trip to Chievo.

“Miranda out? Ranocchia’s also a great player. It’s very important for me to feel the affection of the fans, just as the confidence of my Coach is important. These are things that matter a lot in football.

“For us, his appointment was very important. We still haven’t lost and hopefully we can win all our games.

“We are where we want to be, and that’s important for us. The objective is the Champions League, but we’ll see what happens in our next few games.”
