Max Allegri gave the key to the Juventus victory against Napoli. “If you let them pick up the pace, they become devastating.”

The Bianconeri earned a 1-0 win at the Stadio San Paolo on Friday night thanks to Gonzalo Higuain’s 13th-minute counter-attack.

“In the first half, we held out well under the pressure and tended to break free from it, while in the second half we managed to slow down the Napoli moves,” said the Coach in his Press conference.

“Maurizio Sarri’s side played very well and to leave here with a clean sheet, we needed a performance like that.

“Napoli play wonderful football and if you let them pick up the pace, then they become devastating.”

Allegri was asked if the Juventus success was the triumph of tactics over aesthetics.

“I wouldn’t know, I’m not an expert on these things…”

Higuain was on target, but he was originally expected to sit this one out after having surgery on a fractured bone in his hand on Monday.

“He was relaxed, because until yesterday, he thought he wasn’t going to play. Then Mario Mandzukic got hurt and I was forced to play Higuain.”
