“We’ve done well so far, but the really important game is tomorrow,” said the Coach in his Press conference.

“Our 3-0 win over Sampdoria should not be a one-off, so we’ve got to give some consistency to our performances. Obviously, we are looking at the table, but it won’t change our approach to the games. We must face one team at a time and Cagliari are really tough.

“If we don’t use the same aggression and determination we had against Sampdoria, then we risk taking a step backwards. We mustn’t allow them anything, as I want the lads to leave the field exhausted.

“I know what to expect from my team and it’s fundamental that we approach Cagliari the right way, cover the spaces and have the ideal level of aggression.”

Adam Masina has fallen down the pecking order at Bologna in recent weeks and Donadoni explains why.

“He needs to be more effective and focus on getting results first, being spectacular second. It’s the only way he can become a great player. He has the potential to do everything, he just needs to improve his football intelligence and maturation process.”
