And despite Mattia Destro’s late equaliser denying them all three points, the Uruguayan tactician was pleased with his charges’ response against his former club.

“We played a great first half and we could have killed it off in the second half,” Lopez told reporters.

“For us today, our attitude was important. We needed to show that Tuesday was just one bad game.

“We got ourselves back on track, that was the important thing.”
