Genoa have officially signed former Fiorentina and Italy striker Giuseppe Rossi on a free transfer.

A statement on Genoa’s official website confirms Rossi will be unveiled on Tuesday evening at the club museum.

Reports suggest the 30-year-old has penned a deal until the end of the season with the Grifone, who face fellow strugglers Verona on Monday.

The ex-Manchester United and Villarreal ace was released by Fiorentina over the summer, having suffered the fifth serious knee injury of his career during a loan spell at Celta Vigo last season.
