The Giallorossi knocked Atletico Madrid out and pushed the Premier League title holders into second place.

“We knew that this was a difficult group, but today we deserved a victory against Atletico Madrid,” Conte told Mediaset Premium after their 1-1 draw.

“Roma deserved their qualification, as against the Olimpico (in a 3-0 defeat), we put in our worst performance of the season.

“Seeing Roma and Juventus go through to the Round of 16 is a good sign for Italian football, awaiting Napoli.”

Tomorrow the Partenopei can only qualify if they beat Feyenoord and Manchester City also defeat Shakhtar Donetsk.
