Diego Perotti has announced he’ll stay at Roma until 2021, in a video posted on the club’s Facebook page.

It was reported last night that the winger would put pen to paper on a new deal, and he was asked in a Q&A if he’d be staying at Roma.

“I’ll show you,” the Perotti replied, before unveiling a t-shirt bearing “2021”.

The Argentine also took the time to discuss the Giallorossi’s current form, after their qualification for the Champions League Last 16 on Tuesday.

“We’re in a good period, the team did something no-one believed we could, we finished top [of the group]. We can improve in the league too, even if we’re having a good campaign so far.

“The first game [in the Champions League] with the goal Saul [Niguez] missed would have changed everything. Luck was on our side.

“We could have won in London too, but to be 2-0 down at Stamford Bridge and turn it around… I think that was the moment we knew we could do it.

“The 3-0 at the Olimpico [against Chelsea] was the clearest demonstration of what the team wanted.

“The defeat in Madrid knocked confidence a bit, but if we were told beforehand we’d only have to beat Qarabag to qualify we’d all have signed for that.”
