Sebastian Giovinco and Toronto FC have beaten Seattle Sounders 2-0 to lift their first ever MLS Cup and the first Treble.

The Major League Soccer equivalent of the title was decided this evening on home turf at BMO Field, having lost against Seattle Sounders last year in a penalty shoot-out.

‘Atomic Ant’ Giovinco played a decisive role, as his through ball released Jozy Altidore to dink the finish over the on-rushing goalkeeper after 67 minutes.

Toronto dominated the match and only the heroics of goalkeeper Stefan Frei kept the scoreline down.

Victor Vazquez eventually tapped in a second when Altidore’s effort rebounded off the upright to get the celebrations started at the 90th minute.

They had already won the second consecutive Canadian Championship title and also took the Supporters’ Shield with a Major League Soccer record 69 points in a single season.
