Roma look to have been dealt a boost as Kostas Manolas has reportedly avoided an ankle injury.

Manolas’ ankle seemed to give way during Greece’s 1-0 Nations League win against Finland on Thursday, prompting fears the defender suffered a sprain.

However, Il Tempo notes he underwent tests on Friday morning, which ‘didn’t highlight any problematic issues’.

Nonetheless, Manolas should still return to Rome earlier than planned, with the newspaper suggesting he could be back as soon as this afternoon.

Furthermore, the Giallorossi are only ‘hopeful’ that the 27-year-old will be available for their upcoming games against Udinese and Real Madrid at this stage.
