The pair clashed during their time in Serie A, with Mourinho at Inter and Ranieri taking charge of boyhood club Roma.

The Special One made fun of his counterpart’s English, as well as exaggerating his age and stating that he’d never won anything.

However, Ranieri revealed Mou was the first to congratulate him when he got the Inter job, and the Manchester United manager publicly supported the Italian after he was sacked by Leicester.

“Jose is a fantastic man, he was the first to send me a message to say, 'Welcome back’,” Ranieri said in his Press conference today.

“He's a very friendly friend. I know him from a long time ago, when he came in at Chelsea. He was very polite with me in every moment.”
