Milan chiefs Ivan Gazidis and Paolo Maldini have reportedly clashed over a potential deal for Arsenal midfielder Mesut Ozil.

According to Corriere dello Sport, Milan were offered Ozil and his arrival was endorsed by Maldini, who wanted to bring in a player with the German’s ‘quality and experience’.

However, Gazidis would have ruled out a reunion with the 30-year-old at San Siro on the grounds that the Rossoneri were focusing on ‘young players with resale value’.
