Napoli legend Diego Maradona has denied reports that he has Alzheimer’s disease. “I’m not dying!”

Maradona left Mexican side Dorados last week after just nine months in charge, but it soon circulated in his native Argentina that he had been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s.

That prompted the 58-year-old to hit back in an Instagram video: “I hear people talking about Alzheimer’s, but many of them don’t even know what the word ‘Alzheimer’ means.

“It’s something terrible. People die of Alzheimer’s and I’m not dying. I’m not dying!

“Many people want to cause confusion, but I don’t like confusion.”

His agent Matias Moria later added: “He never had tests for suspected Alzheimer’s.

“He only left Dorados because he needed shoulder and knee operations.”
