Eintracht Frankfurt chairman Wolfgang Steubing claims Ante Rebic has already “lost” his Milan gamble, “and it won’t get any easier for him.”

Rebic was a regular for Eintracht in his three seasons with the club, winning a DFB-Pokal and playing in the Europa League semi-finals, while earning a spot in the Croatia squad that finished runners-up at the 2018 World Cup.

However, the ex-Fiorentina forward chose to trade all that for a return to Italy with Milan, who are currently rebuilding.

“Honestly, I don’t know what to say,” Steubing told Bild, Bulinews reports.

“He wanted to leave, because otherwise he would be the only one of the three strikers to stay at Frankfurt.

“Now, he sits outside. He took a gamble and lost. And it won't get any easier for him.”
